BE THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM!
Join our global initiative to Stop Bullying. It's simple: Check with y
our school library to see if they have copies of Hey U.G.L.Y.'s  Stop Bullying Handbook.  Once you and your task force group complete the book you will become official members of our Stop Bullying Task Force. The mission of our handbook is to help any of you who are being bullied. We also want to help the bullies because our task force members believe they bully because they don't feel good about themselves and are often being bullied by someone too. One of the biggest forms of bullying happens in our heads. We call it Self-Bullying. You know what it's like when your mind starts ranting with self-defeating messages like: I can't do that; I'll never be good enough: she's prettier than me; he gets all the girls; I'm fat-I'm stupid- etc. we want to help you learn how to Stop Self-Bullying. Our handbook is easy to use, rewarding and life changing.  Email us at PreventBullyingNow@heyugly.org or call us at 219.778.2011 to get your copy.

Here's some news about our past Stop Bullying rallies:

LaPorte High School holds "stop bullying" rally
By Ed Greenberger

If your child has been the victim of bullying, you know how serious a problem it can be.
The Indiana group Hey UGLY held a "stop bullying" rally at LaPorte High School Wednesday. UGLY stands for Unique, Gifted, Lovable You.
Nearly 2,000 students and faculty members signed what was billed as the world's largest "stop bullying" banner. Those signatures represent a promise to erase bullying from school.
"We all took the pledge to stand up against bullying," said teacher Ingrid Johanson-Voelker. "We're going to stop bullying ourselves, we're going to stop bullying others and we're going to step in and assist other people when we see them being bullied."
According to the CDC, bullying makes more than 850,000 U.S. teenagers stay home from school at least once a month.

An entire high school takes a stand against bullying.
More than two thousand students at LaPorte High School are getting involved in an anti-bullying campaign.
Wednesday the school held an assembly to address the problem with the help of the student task force.
A couple of students from the task force sang a rap song illustrating the need to end bullying.
"Rap is to express your own feelings and beliefs. Basically I think that's what we did today. It's not cool to bully," says LaPorte High School senior and singer Trevor Sales.
Plus all of the students were encouraged to sign a banner to stop bullying that will travel to other high schools around the country.
Some of the states the banner will head to include Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan.

During National "Stop Bullying Day" 2010 we created the world's largest stop bullying banner and kicked the event off at La Porte High School where 1,950 students are taking the stop bullying pledge and signing the banner. From there the banner traveled to St. Stanislaus Kosta School in Michigan City, IN where our original task force (pictured above) will present their Stop Bullying presentation to the school body.

WHY DO PEOPLE BULLY??

"A lot of the time, girls put each other down to make themselves feel better or because they're envious. I've made fun of people and talked about them because I secretly wish I had as much guts as them or a certain trait or talent." 16-year old Violet. Teen Vogue

"I know it's wrong, but the freshmen who I have an easy time being awful to are the ones that I am jealous of." HS sophomore Ariana. Teen Vogue
