"We highly recommend 50 Cent's compelling book, Playground. Not only will youth benefit from reading his account of bullying in middle school, but also parents and teachers. In the book 50 Cent gives important clues to adults on how youth think and how they process what adults say ... and, in some cases, don't say. We are hoping this book will inspire youth and adults to be able to have open discussions about bullying ... both from the standpoint of the bully and the bullied in order for them to become part of the solution the epidemic of bullying." Betty Hoeffner, Co-found/president of Hey U.G.L.Y.  Unique Gifted Lovable You ... the nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth to be part of the solution
to bullying.

"I applaud 50 Cent for writing this book for young adults about the terrible epidemic of bullying. He has the ear of his audience, and by sharing some of his own experiences, he is in the best position to help kids get through the frightening time and come out of it whole. As a mother, I thank him for teaching the basic human principals of kindness to one another." Bette Midler

Just finished reading a great book called The MonsterJunkies. It's about these two seemingly misfit teens, Crow and Indigo, who live in what is perceived to be a spooky house filled with scary people and frightening creatures.

I couldn't put the book down as these two teens creatively take on the bullying and negative judgments that is thrown at them by their peers and adults. Crow and Indigo are great examples of overcoming the challenge of being our true selves.

In the authors note section of the book, author Erik Daniel Shein says:

"We are all MonsterJunkies and wear masks during our daily lives in school, during work, hanging out with our friends, imitating people we look up to and admire, or those we want to be. It is the people who take off their masks and show the real person inside who are the ones that truly find meaning in lives."

This sentiment, and the amazing challenges the teens overcome, is why Hey U.G.L.Y. is highly endorsing this book which we project will be the most talked about book of the year.

We can't wait for the next installment. This is going to be as huge as the Twilight series!
