Tweens and Teens choose positive lyrics for charity’s
song of the month program and radio show

Chicago, IL – What is your favorite song that inspires self-esteem? That is the question Hey U. G.L.Y. is asking America’s youth for their Song of the Month program.

Since Song of the Month was launched, students have submitted songs that range from Soar by Christina Aguilera to Can’t Take That Away by Mariah Carey, said Betty Hoeffner, president and co-founder of Hey U.G.L.Y.

Tweens and teens submit their song by clicking on Song of the Month at www.HeyUGLY.org. A panel of judges review the lyrics and if the students’ song is selected he or she receives a free, U G L Y T-shirt plus having their name posted on the site next to the song they suggested. The songs are also played on Hey U.G.L.Y.’s weekly radio show called CHOOSE TO CHANGE which can be heard every Wednesday at 6:30 PM ET on WRHC-FM. It also streams world wide on the internet at RadioHarborCountry.org.  Lyrics to the songs played are posted on ChooseToChange.blogspot.com so listeners can read the lyrics as the song is being played. Choose To Change repeats every Monday morning at 10 AM ET.
