“Don’t waste so much time thinking about how much you weigh. There is no more mind-numbing, boring, idiotic, self-destructive diversion from the fun of living.” People Magazine
“What makes a breakup easier is knowing that you will be better off and eventually your life will be easier because you don’t have to stress about the relationship anymore. I think people are in really unhealthy relationships, and you need to just step away. I’m not into drama.”Seventeen Magazine
“We give so much of ourselves to others when we should really work on our relationship with ourselves. Self-care, without the hashtag or face mask, is essential. Look in the mirror and say, ‘You got this!’ Meditate. Exercise. Whatever. Be kind to yourself every day.” Cosmopolitan Magazine
I’m 23. When I came into the music industry, I had somebody do my makeup, but I flipped out. People forget that a musician and a model are very different. A model’s job is to play a character, but as a musician, I’m just myself every day. I can’t have someone who doesn’t know me coming on board and changing my face. I’m singing songs that are personal, from the bottom of my heart. My fans need to recognize the person singing to them, you know? That’s just how it is for me. So I started doing my makeup myself. I don’t feel like I need to be wearing that much. For me personally, I like to find ways to play up my existing beauty rather than trying to change what my face looks like.” People Magazine
“I thought my skin wasn’t beautiful enough to wear shorts or open-toed shoes, but my idea of ‘beautiful enough’ came from not seeing enough representation of someone like myself, that would’ve been so powerful for me. I hope to offer all young women a sense of hope and change, that one type of look is not better than another. It’s ok to be different and seeing that is massive for a child.” People Magazine
“Growing up under such scrutiny led me to feel insecure about my looks. When I was younger, I never loved being in a swimsuit because I picked apart the way I looked in them. It took me years to separate the opinions of others from my own.” People Magazine
“I feel most beautiful when I’m serene, relaxed, and present and I’m able to have gratitude for all that I have. That’s when beauty can be there. Otherwise, it doesn’t matter what my hair looks like or what makeup I put on.” InSTYLE Magazine
“The journey is self-acceptance and self-love. I believe everybody has this snapshot of themselves. It’s a snapshot that they kinda want to hide from the world. And mine was being like this 14-year old over weight kid kinda feeling ugly to the world wanting to fit in with this group of skateboarders. People are all just different but they hurt just as much. It was a liberating way to spend these last few years figuring out who I am as a person, how do you love yourself, and how do you be yourself and be the artist that you are with out apologizing for it” Late Night with Seth Myers
